Tear-off Deck New roof

A new roof, from the deck up.

A roof near the end of its life tells you: curled shingles, bald patches, stains on the ceiling.

Patching it again buys a few months, while a replacement starts the clock over.

We tear the old roof off down to the deck, so nothing rotten gets buried under new material.

Soft or damaged decking is replaced before anything new goes on top of it.

Then come the underlayment, the flashing and the new roof: shingle, metal or a low-slope system.

Google reviewers mention hurricane clips added and extra peel-and-stick underlayment on their re-roofs.

You hear from us at each stage of the job, and that is what our Google reviewers mention most.

The job ends with the yard and driveway cleaned up and a final walk-around with you.

What is included Roof Replacement

How we handle roof replacement.

  • 01

    Free inspection first

We get on the roof, check the deck from the attic where we can, and show you what we found.

  • 02

    Choosing the roof

Shingle, metal or a low-slope system, plus colors and underlayment. We recommend; you decide.

  • 03

    Tear-off to the deck

Old shingles, underlayment and worn flashing come off, with the yard protected while they do.

  • 04

    Deck repairs

Rotten or soft sheathing is cut out and replaced, so the new roof is fastened to solid wood.

  • 05

    Underlayment, flashing

New underlayment, drip edge, pipe boots, valley and wall flashing go on before the roof itself.

  • 06

    Cleanup and walk-around

Nails, scraps and debris are cleaned up, and we walk the finished roof with you.

Your options

Repair it, or replace it?

Not every leak means a new roof, and we will tell you when a repair is the honest answer.

When the shingles are worn out across the whole roof, repairs end up chasing leaks around it.

Florida’s 25 percent rule can also decide it, because large damaged sections may need to meet current code.

A free inspection settles it, with photos of what we found on your roof.

  • RepairA few damaged shingles, a cracked pipe boot or a flashing leak on a roof with life left in it.
  • Section re-roofOne slope worn or damaged while the rest holds up. Code rules decide how far that can go.
  • Full replacementWorn shingles everywhere, repeat leaks or soft decking. The clock starts over.
Worth knowing

Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30. A re-roof planned in spring is finished before it starts.

Questions Straight answers

Questions about roof replacement?

Still unsure? Call (813) 461-0751, Monday to Friday 9 to 5, and ask Omar.

How do I know my roof needs replacing?

Curling or cracked shingles, bald patches, granules in the gutters, leaks in more than one place and soft spots underfoot are the usual signs.

A free inspection tells you for sure, and we say so if a repair will do.

Can you add hurricane clips during a re-roof?

A Google reviewer in Tampa had hurricane clips added during a full roof replacement with us.

While the roof is open, ask us what your house has now and what can be added.

What underlayment goes under the new roof?

It depends on the roof and its slope.

A Google reviewer chose extra peel-and-stick underlayment on a re-roof with us.

We go over the options with you before any work starts.

Do you replace commercial roofs too?

Yes. U First Roofing does residential and commercial roofing.

Call (813) 461-0751 and tell us about the building and the roof on it.
